Some quotes on teaching

Everybody who is incapable of learning has taken to teaching.
Oscar Wilde

Teaching is the only major occupation of man for which we have not yet developed tools that make an average person capable of competence and performance. In teaching we rely on the “naturals,” the ones who somehow know how to teach.
Peter Drucker

Please stop teaching my children that everyone gets a trophy just for participating. What is this, the Nobel Prize? Not everybody gets a trophy.
Glenn Beck

Why? New password for Harvard Pilgrim in the mail

This has to be one of the dumbest things I’ve experienced.

If you need to change your password on the Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare site,   you have to call customer support and they have to MAIL  your temporary password in snail mail.

Please don’t tell me because it’s because of security or privacy – that is just bunk.

Why remake Hawii 5-0?

No offense to the many fine actors and production staff that are working on the remake but has Hollywood completely run out ideas?  When was the last time you watched  a movie that was made of a great book or that was really original?

Why remake Sherlock Holmes?  Mr. Downey and Mr. Law did a good job turning Holmes and Watson into action figures but did they add anything to the story?  I’d love to hear from Baker Street  group about what they thought of it.

Even PBS is doing Miss Marple to death.

And the original Ventures Hawaii 5-0 theme is more hard charging than this version.

Enough said…sigh
